Terms of Use

These conditions govern access to and use of Los Alamos County Criminal History. Visiting a page, reading its material, or submitting a search means that the user accepts each term below. Anyone who does not agree should stop using the website.

NO FCRA USE. Los Alamos County Criminal History is privately operated and has no connection to a local, New Mexico, or federal government body. Neither the website nor its advertising partners offer a service for credit, employment, insurance, tenant, or other decisions governed by the Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA). It helps readers locate criminal-record resources in Los Alamos County, New Mexico. It is neither a private investigation firm nor a consumer reporting agency.

1. What This Website Is

This is a private reference site with no government ties. It does not store official criminal records, retrieve records on a visitor's behalf, perform an official background check, or file a document.

Its role is to identify record custodians such as LAPD Records, Los Alamos courts, the New Mexico Department of Public Safety State Central Repository, and the New Mexico DPS Sex Offender Registry. It may also connect a reader with an outside research tool.

2. Rules for Using This Site

You agree that you will not:

  • Break any federal, state, or local law while using this site
  • Use information you find here to stalk, harass, or threaten anyone
  • Base hiring, housing, lending, or insurance decisions on content from this site
  • Try to break into our systems or gain access you are not supposed to have
  • Run bots, scrapers, or automated tools against our pages
  • Do anything that slows the site down or blocks other people from using it

3. No Harassment, Stalking, or Discrimination

No information obtained here or through a linked service may be used to stalk, harass, threaten, intimidate, or discriminate against anyone. Misuse may be criminal. New Mexico registry information is provided for public-safety awareness, not confrontation or vigilante conduct. The New Mexico DPS Sex Offender Registry carries its own lawful-use warning, and users must follow it.

4. We Are Not a Consumer Reporting Agency

We are not a consumer reporting agency under the FCRA. We do not generate background checks, credit reports, or consumer reports of any kind. Neither we nor our advertising partners provide services built for screening job applicants, reviewing rental applications, calculating insurance rates, or judging creditworthiness. You agree not to use data from this site or any linked tool to:

  • Decide whether to hire or fire someone
  • Screen potential renters or housing applicants
  • Judge creditworthiness or set insurance premiums
  • Determine who qualifies for licenses, permits, or government programs
  • Do anything else that falls under FCRA rules

Any check for a regulated purpose must come through an authorized New Mexico Department of Public Safety process or a screening provider that complies with the FCRA.

5. No Legal Advice

The material is not legal advice. General information about Los Alamos County records cannot determine how a charge, conviction, warrant, or New Mexico expungement rule affects one person. Seek advice from a licensed New Mexico attorney.

6. No Warranties

Everything on this site is provided "as is." We do not guarantee that:

  • The information here is accurate, complete, or current at any given time
  • The site will stay up and running without interruptions
  • Our pages are free of errors, bugs, or security holes
  • Results from our partner search tools will be thorough or accurate

Criminal records change all the time - charges are filed, dismissed, sealed, and expunged. We try to keep up, but gaps are unavoidable. Nothing on this site should be treated as an official statement from a court, sheriff, or government agency.

7. Third-Party Services and Links

We link to sheriff's office sites, court portals, state agency pages, legal aid organizations, and outside search services across this site. Clicking one of those links moves you off our platform and onto one we have no control over. We are not responsible for their content, how they handle data, what they charge, or whether their site stays online. Check their terms before using them.

8. Intellectual Property

Text, graphics, logos, and code belong to Los Alamos County Criminal History or its content partners. Copying, distribution, modification, or creation of derivative material requires prior written permission.

9. Limits on Our Liability

To the fullest extent the law allows, we are not liable for damages that come from using this site - including decisions made based on information found here or through any linked service.

10. Indemnification

You agree to hold us harmless from any claim, legal action, or demand that stems from how you used this site or from breaking these terms. That includes covering our legal fees and related costs.

11. Governing Law

New Mexico law governs these terms. A dispute tied to use of the website must be brought in a court located in New Mexico. Government record access remains subject to the New Mexico Inspection of Public Records Act, Sections 14-2-1 through 14-2-12 NMSA 1978, while Section 29-10-4 NMSA 1978 regulates dissemination of defined arrest-record information.

12. Changes to These Terms

We can update these terms whenever we see fit. New terms go into effect the moment they appear on this page.

13. Cutting Off Access

We can limit or block your access to this site at any time, for any reason, with no warning.

14. Severability

If a court rules that any part of these terms is invalid or unenforceable, the rest stand. The problem section gets adjusted only as much as needed to make it work.
